Help Tourism has played a major role in bringing about the tea tourism product in place.
Help Tourism, an ecotourism organization established in 1991 is the brain behind development of several interesting tourism products in the past one and a half decade. Some of them are Village Tourism, Community Based Tourism, Conservation Tourism, Volunteer Tourism etc. The latest being Tea Tourism.
The initiative came into full activation about five years back and the Help Tourism team, during this period has managed to convince about twenty three tea gardens and estates to start with tourism. The team has surveyed the tourism possibility of these plantations and has provided the management an insight of the advantages of tea tourism. Some of the plantations mentioned in this site have opted for the training program for developing the tourism product. Some of them have also opted for the marketing of the tourism product through the Help Tourism network.
Today there are about five different products which a traveler can avail of among the ten gardens using the Help Tourism expertise to establish their Tea Tourism product.
